Prepare before you reach the beach

A first session goes more smoothly when you arrive ready. Bring swimwear you can move in, reef-safe sunscreen, a towel, and water. If you wear glasses, ask about options before the lesson. Balangan Beach is in Pecatu, Badung, so allow travel time and check how you will get there.

Know the lesson options

Ocean Reef Surf School lists three class formats. Review them on the surf lessons page, then contact the school to confirm what fits your group and schedule:

  • Private Class — IDR 700,000
  • Semi-Private Class — IDR 600,000 per person
  • Group Class — IDR 450,000 per person

Prices are listed as published. Confirm availability and class details directly before you plan the day.

Decide what you need from the session

Beginners usually want time to learn the basics on the sand before paddling out. Tell the school whether you are surfing for the first time, travelling with friends, or prefer a smaller class. That helps you compare private, semi-private, and group options without guessing.

On the day

Listen to the briefing, stay with your class, and do not paddle out alone. Conditions at Balangan Beach change, so follow the instructor’s directions about where to enter the water. If you are unsure about anything, ask before the session starts through contact or WhatsApp.

More guides live on the blog. You can also see the gallery, read reviews, or learn about the school on the about page.
